About me
I am a graduate of the Molecular Biology and Biochemistry program at Simon Fraser University. I have research experience in cancer and stem cell biology, as well as leadership experience from long-term community volunteering and event organizing, and internal communications experience gained through volunteer involvement.
I served twice as the President of the International Students’ Group at SFU, concentrating on policy-making and long-term planning. I worked intensely to put a volunteer system in place and updating the mission and vision statements of the organization, while representing more than a thousand international students on all three SFU campuses. You can see the volunteer booklets I produced in partnership with a graphic designer in the Portfolio section.
In 2009, I joined the BC Psychological Association as Communications Officer & Advertising Liaison, where I was responsible for a major website re-design project for the Association. If you are interested in my work experience, you can find more information through my LinkedIn profile. I have published several articles both as an independent writer or on behalf of the ISG; links to these are posted in the Portfolio section.
I am currently studying for my J.D. (exp. 2014) at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. I am a volunteer editor for Queen’s Law Journal and a member of the Labour & Employment Club, the Women & Law Association and the BC Law Students’ Association.
